Lovely ambience with a warm fireplace (real drawcard in winter - wish more places had them!). Interior retains the yesteryear charm. Tastefully re-purposed large sectioned areas for dine in or functions. Was here on a Sunday with a friend recently for late lunch - on a fleeting visit to Warragul. Some mains on menu were not available. We ordered a few entrees like arancini, boccocini, small Greek salad & a bowl of chips & these amply added up to a main for two. I was served tea in a small cup instead of a pot 🙃 - odd! Service is prompt & friendly.

First time here, won't go back!!! So expensive for what you get... Paid $19.50 for a cocktail that came in a very shallow martini glass and wasn't even filled to the top. The boys counted how many sips to the drink. 4... so $5 a mouthful 😱😱😱 Then tried one of their "specials" seafood paella for $43.... wow ☹️☹️ A couple of prawns and mussels and an octopus tentacle.. most of it was peas and a bit of rice.. it was not pleasant! Did mention to waitress as i didn't finish dish, that it was ordinary, too many peas. Husband had steak, came with mash and vegies, he asked for chips and veg and was told that would be extra $2.50 on top of the $44... he said the porterhouse was average.. Place had a nice atmosphere, good service but we'd never eat here again!!

Had lunch on here on Sunday, and what a surprise. I hadn't been to the Railway in 40 years and things have changed! Looks the same outside but the bistro is a revelation, roomy and airy with exposed brick walls and fireplaces scattered throughout. The meal was lovely and the service warm and friendly. Very impressive and highly recommend.
